HIGHLIGHTS:
Fixed a couple of bugs in the address determination routines, and cleaned up
some minor problems. Enhanced the uucp/Internet message formatting
functions...
This version of GenMsg handles decryption very differently than previous
versions. It also handles the Reply and Edit functions differently. Follows
is a brief summary of what to look for:
- Decrypt now places the decoded text into memory and displays it as the
message. It will not let PGP pass it off to List to view.
- Reply now works with the text in display memory, rather than the
message itself.
- Edit works with text in display memory as well.
- Allows use on Hercules adapters, in mode 7. Does not force the colors
to be as required tho - make sure you setup as needed!
ONE of the most noticeable advantages to this arrangement is that of being
able to Reply/Edit a message when it is DECRYPTED, directly rather than the
"Cut 'an Paste" method used previously. REMEMBER the Reply/Edit functions
work off of the text as displayed... if you Reply to a message displayed as
encrypted text, that is what you'll have (as previous versions) but if you
Decrypt the message first, and while it is displayed in its decrypted state
Reply to it, you will be replying to "plain-text"...
This version uses a file for the Help functions. The enclosed GENMSG.HLP must
be located in the same directory as GenMsg.exe and GenMsg.ini. Help is
envoked by entering a "?" (question mark) from the main menu, edit menu, or
attribute menu. This will probably be added to in the future.
The variable INTL-Bias previously found in GenMsg.ini has been deleted.
Selecting Message AREAS:
GenMsg loads the area list into display memory, so that you can now use the
text scrolling keys; Page-Up, Page-Down, Home, End, Up-Arrow, and Down-Arrow
to view the list, and make your selection.
Thanks!
